Yes! First, you have to realize your confidence will improve a thousand fold once you know what you're doing. That's where Level 1 and Level 2 come in -- you've got to learn the theory and practice before you can market and get clients. Imagine trying to find clients for your cake-baking company ... without having any idea how to bake cakes! On the other hand, if you learn and train to become a master baker, your confidence will flourish.
We are not a job placement agency, but we do provide you all the tools and resources necessary to find work as a transcriptionist. As part of your course fee, you receive step-by-step tutorials (including videos) on how to find clients (even on YouTube!), how to apply for transcription company jobs (which are a lower-paying option but still good experience), and how to build a website to market yourself.
If you've taken a look at our post series People Who Use Transcriptionists, you'll quickly see there's a ton of work out there for transcriptionists -- let us transform you into the transcriptionist you need to be in order to get clients like these.
No. This is not a get-rich-quick type of job, but if you work for it, you can make a solid living working as a transcriptionist. Plus, you will reap the rewards of freedom found by working from home and performing challenging work.
You have access forever, and all updates are included at no additional cost. The course is entirely self-paced, too, so no one will rush you through, nor will you be penalized for not completing it in a certain time frame.
You can seek help from our lively student community on Facebook -- one of the most helpful groups you'll ever experience. You can also email me directly, but it's actually faster to use the Facebook group since there are students and transcriptionists in there who will probably answer much faster than I can.
It usually takes students 2-4 months to complete. The course is entirely self-paced, however, so you are able to take more or less time as needed. There is no rush.
No. You need to have patience and the ability to sit for long periods of time. An eye for detail is also necessary.
General transcription has no geographical boundaries since all of our work is obtained and delivered via the internet. I have clients and students in all English-speaking countries. It is, however, important that you be fluent in the English language. It's beyond the scope of our training to teach basic English skills.
Legal transcription isn't recommended to non-U.S. citizens since it's based on the U.S. legal system.

YES! With the exploding popularity of video all over the internet, there is a rapidly increasing demand for transcription. Much of that video needs to be turned into a written document to be used for marketing, training, blog or website content, eBooks… the list is endless.
Companies and marketers of all kinds use transcriptionists. Some are big production companies and others are small mom-and-pop businesses. The demand for qualified transcriptionists will continue to rise.
See this expanded FAQ for more, and be sure to check out our post category People Who Use Transcriptionists for examples and evidence that transcription is in high demand by a diverse range of markets.
We get it. There are scams everywhere online -- people trying to sell you useless products or eBooks and painting this picture that it won't take any work at all to start making money working from home -- just buy this book, course, whatever, and you'll get access to people who practically want to throw their money at you. Then you buy what they're selling, and it's a huge letdown.
That's not what we're about at all. All over this page and the entire site, you'll find nothing but transparency and honesty about the work it takes to be successful in this business. If you write to us, we answer. We do not make lofty promises. We only promise what we can -- that our training program is the most thorough, highest quality training for transcription available. Our goal is to provide you with everything you need to become successful as a transcriptionist -- not just to make a buck.
Even if you choose not to go with our program, be sure to check out our post on 3 Keys to Avoiding Work-at-Home Scams.
