Did you know that transcriptionists can make money and save lives at the same time?
It sounds totally nuts, I know. But let me show you how it’s true!
We’ve shared how all kinds of professionals use general transcription to help improve their businesses. We’ve seen how transcriptionists can help create articles, SEO content, and even turn podcasts into transcripts. The common thread that ties these professionals together is this: they all need to save time and resources.
That thread holds true for today’s post but with an awesome additional reason. I can’t wait to share with you this new and unique way transcriptionists can make money, so let’s dive in!
Today we’re chatting with Max Robinson, with WeSwap Euro Rates. WeSwap lets travellers around the world spend, store, swap, and manage their currency in a new way with no hidden costs.
The genius way Max uses transcriptionists
“I travel a lot with my work, and often when I’m driving I’ll have an idea and I’ll quickly record myself speaking it rather than writing it down (too dangerous!),” Max says. “Because I drive for around two hours per day, I’ll often have ended up recording myself for a considerable amount of time. I like to get my recordings transcribed so I can make sense of the notes and use some of the ideas that I’ve brainstormed.”
What a cool concept, right? How many times have you had a great idea at an inconvenient time — like while driving — and you can’t write it down? You tell yourself you’ll remember it later, but do you? Or — heaven forbid — you try to jot it down on a fast food napkin while driving down the highway.
When time is money and precious ideas can’t be wasted, transcriptionists can ensure that great ideas aren’t lost without endangering lives. That’s a powerful tool for any professional to have in their arsenal!
A good transcriptionist can be invaluable
Not only does Max take the safe route by having his notes transcribed, he also hires general transcriptionists to save him time and money. That way, he can focus on more important tasks that help him improve his business.
“I don’t like to transcribe the recording myself. I’m quite a slow writer, and it can often take me hours to make sense of it,” he says. “The transcriptionists that I hire work very quickly and are based in the same country as I am, so they can understand my strong accent easily!”
Quality work = repeat business
I asked Max if he’s had any negative experiences with transcriptionists that he’d like to share. His response made me very happy!
“I’m fortunate that I’ve never actually had an issue with transcriptionists,” he says. “Mainly because I’ve used the same two for the past three years!”
See? A competent transcriptionist who can take ideas and inspiration and turn them into a usable transcript will have repeat customers. That’s because excellence and value ensure customers keep coming back for more!
